Jordy Smith
Each year Jordy Smith picks up a quiver when he visits Australia. I grew up shaping in Durban and gaining inspiration from Jordy’s dad Graham, so it is good to catch up each season. At the moment he is riding his Silent savage models with fixed fins so I am making him boards with a variety of MF+ and D3 fixed fins. A few shots below of Jordy Smith riding his 6’1 Silent Savage beach break model to victory in the Japan WQS. He looks all set for another huge year and looks a certain to qualify for the World Tour over the next couple of years.
Jordy Smith won his first WQS event of the season at Soldiers Beach riding a favourite 6’2″ Joistik, shaped and designed by Nick Blair. Jordy took out the 4* Hot Tuna Central Coast Pro this year in Newcastle over the weekend and secured some valuable early points in the WQS race. The magic stick took Jordy through 5 heats, all the way through to the final, on the final day. It was the same board Jordy had been riding throughout the Australian leg up until now, almost earning him a spot in the Quiksilver Pro Trials a few weeks earlier. Check out Jordy’s quiver below with signature custom sprays.
