Shun Murakami rides The Silent Savage
20 year old Shun Murakami is one of Japan’s best surfers and is currently 65th in the Qualifying Series. Shun is an amazing surfer who has all of the talent and competitive drive needed to be at the forefront of the Japanese charge for years to come. Shun is capable of mixing it up with different airs, grabs, and carves, surfing with style and poise. Combine that with his fearless approach in waves of consequence and he is an exciting surfer to work with.
Shun has been trying out his new PU and epoxy Silent Savage models over the past few days at home in Shonan. He rides his Silent Savage in these clips at 5’8 x 18 3/16 x 2 3/16, which comes in at 23.11L. The Silent Savage is a modern performance shortboard that precisely balances all the elements of speed, drive response and release. This model features a round, squash tail, medium rocker throughout with evenly slowly curve and subtle tail lift, flatter/volumised deck and full rail, medium single to double concave and thruster configuration. I find it has a high hit rate for most surfers and is a really versatile shortboard.
